DRS to run third event on tackling the challenges of delivering coordinated admissions

28th February 2005

Wednesday 16th March 2005
National Railway Museum, York

After the overwhelming success of last December’s DRS Admissions conference, we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting in York, the third in a series of conferences dedicated to the school admissions process. Open exclusively to LEA admissions teams and MIS support staff, the event will provide the opportunity to share best practice and increase the awareness of issues LEAs are facing. Guest speakers from DfES, Milton Keynes Council and Education Bradford will provide an insight into tackling the challenges of delivering coordinated admissions. Delegates will also have the opportunity to take part in break-out sessions hosted by admission experts focusing on processes and data delivery. The conference will take place at the National Railway Museum in York on Wednesday 16th March and admission is free.

LEAs across the country are under increasing pressure from the government to process parental forms more quickly than ever before. After the introduction of coordinated admissions and the advent of the Common Application Form, the traditional manual procedure for handling parental preferences has been recognised by industry experts as a slow, expensive and error prone process. DRS fully appreciates the need to work in partnership with LEAs to find a suitable cost-effective solution to process and manage this complex, time-critical exercise to help ensure conformity with the official Code of Practice, and is pleased to provide the forum where these issues and challenges can be explored.

Places are limited so if you would like to attend, simply contact DRS on 01908 666088 or e-Mail bookings@drs.co.uk. Alternatively, download the booking form on the forthcoming events link at the top of this page.
