DRS showcases data capture technology for Police front line applications

12th August 2004

DRS will be exhibiting at this year’s Police Superintendents Conference in Warwickshire on 13th - 16th September 2004 and will be demonstrating its latest technology in Police front line applications.

DRS works in partnership with Police Forces around the country, assisting and supporting them with the data capture challenges they face associated with accurate record keeping and handling, and sharing of intelligence. Through its range of Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) and unique Imaging technology, DRS is able to improve and add value to Police IT systems, increasing the effectiveness and accuracy of Police records, ensuring greater turnaround times whilst reducing the need for administrative staff to key data into computer systems.

The Police Superintendents Conference will be a chance for visiting Police delegates to see in practice the DRS TELEform solution, a sophisticated ICR application which is now the most popular DRS data capture method amongst Police forces. Typically used for applications such as stop and search, crime recording, crime reporting, training assessment, timesheets, accident and incident reports, the DRS TELEform solution automates the data collection and validation process and is proven to reduce manual data entry by up to 90%, as well as improve processing time by 500% or more.

DRS will be situated in Area 3 of the conference and will be offering free consultations for Forces wishing to streamline their data capture processes, improve the accuracy and turnaround of data, as well as reduce the amount of already overstretched administration time spent on paperwork.

NOTES FOR EDITORS

The DRS TELEform solution can automate the data gathering process for just about any type of application where data needs to be collected and can be provided as a complete package including, software and hardware through to installation, training and support.
