Media Alert - DRS supports National Assessment Agency
DRS today announced its support for the National Assessment Agency (NAA) in its intention to increase investment for examiners and test markers. The NAA have allocated £15million this year as part of a modernisation programme which will significantly boost the money available to awarding bodies and external marking agencies.
DRS believes this as a landmark decision for awarding bodies, as it will not only fuel a dedicated examiner recruitment campaign but it will also improve access to resources and technology that will ensure examination papers are processed quicker and more effectively.
“Increasing the speed, accuracy and security of examination processing is a key objective for the NAA.” Commented Martyn Roan, General Manager of Education, DRS. “With better access to electronic marking technologies including Imaging techniques, examiners and markers can mark scripts efficiently and effectively without the logistical problems faced with paper script marking. Ultimately, this will lead to greater accuracy levels, results being available much earlier and the opportunity for students to have more time to make key decisions about their future.”
DRS designs, manufactures and distributes a wide range of sophisticated data capture technology to process data quickly, accurately and securely. Its next generation examination processing and marking solutions are already successfully improving the marking process and providing a wealth of added value in management information for awarding bodies. DRS has over three decades experience in working with the national and worldwide examinations and assessment market, whether national examination bodies, universities, schools or professional institutions.
