5th OCR National Recognising Achievement Awards sponsored by DRS
DRS sponsored the GCSE and GNVQ category of the Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations national “Recognising Achievement Awards” on 27 November 2003. These awards provide a unique opportunity for students to be congratulated for both academic excellence and beyond expectation.
Broadcaster and Journalist, Fiona Bruce hosted the awards and other keynote speeches were given by Barry Sheerman MP and Keith Weller of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
Four students picked up the accolades in outstanding performance in the GCSE and GNVQ category, some having to deal with severe illnesses and learning difficulties throughout their studies. Claire Hill from Bristol Redland High School for Girls, George Hunter from Portsmouth Grammar School, Clare Wilson from Dover College and Joanna Wilson from the King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls in Birmingham were all presented with their certificates and awards at the glittering ceremony by Ron Mclone, Chief Executive at OCR.
