DRS IntelliReg® - fingertip biometric registration system

IntelliReg® Overview - electronic registration
DRS IntelliReg®, offers the latest technology and biometric fingertip sensing for monitoring and tracking student attendance in schools, colleges & universities. It offers complex attendance reporting and real-time query abilities, helping to improve standards within the education system. DRS biometric scanners are specially designed readers which code the unique points of each fingertip and use an algorithm to convert it into a mathematical template, thus omitting the need for an actual fingerprint image to be stored.
DRS IntelliReg® is an electronic registration solution designed to record the presence, absence and lateness of students accurately and in real time. Students place their fingertip on the reader (known as podding), enter their pin or wave their card at the reader and their attendance is registered automatically. Powerful reporting features allow you to monitor attendance of individual students or groups of students.
Integration of DRS IntelliReg® with leading MIS systems such as SIMS and CMIS for AM PM and lesson registration saves the time-consuming task of populating the school or college MIS with attendance data and allows real-time update of data for accurate attendance monitoring.
Wall-mounted selectronic registration system
IntelliReg® biometric registration units
A registration complex consists of three separate wall-mounted units – one main unit, including PIN and TFT touch-screen technology and up to two satellite units. The units are interconnected using proprietary USB cables and trunking. The main unit is connected to the rest of the registration system via an industry standard Ethernet network.
The registration unit is capable of simultaneously capturing up to three fingertips and/or one PIN. Registration Units are usually installed inside classrooms for lesson-by-lesson student registration.
IntelliReg® registration units – features
- fast multiple biometric registration
- integrates with schools’ and colleges’ existing network infrastructure
- powered by POE+ or optional mains power adaptor
- battery backup to allow orderly shutdown in case of power failure
- allows one of 3 registration methods per user: finger only, PIN only and finger & PIN
- no fingerprint images are stored
- stylish, compact, wall-mounted units
