Operations Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident individual to join our team as an Operations Analyst. The e-Assessment Delivery Team (EAD) provides large scale solutions for examination processing and electronic marking.  The successful candidate will support the delivery of the examination series by taking responsibility for assigned operational tasks whilst enhancing their skills and knowledge.



The Role:

As a valued member of the team, you will provide support to the Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers in the delivery of internal and external projects. With an eye for detail, you will be required to assist with setting up the framework of the examination series, focusing on data preparation and administrative duties.

As well as delivering small work packages, you will provide support to testing activities and assist in the delivery of operational excellence by identifying and proposing changes to existing processes and procedures. During the delivery period, you will be responsible for monitoring the marking applications, conducting daily checks, reconciliation and responding to queries.


The Person:

The successful candidate will be PC literate, diligent and able to accurately focus on repetitive tasks. You will have experience of working within a project team or in an office-based environment with little supervision. Other relevant experience or qualifications will be considered.

Previous experience in electronic marking or the education sector is not required. Overall, the right candidate will have a can-do attitude and be able to get the job done!



Bureau Operations Manager (Bureau)

Our Bureau team requires a new Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of our data capture services.


The Role:

This is a senior position within our Bureau Services and your role will involve oveseeing the delivery of our superior data capture services on a day to day operation basis. You will also be maintaining a strong relationship with our clients whilst being responsible for teh efficient planning and delivery of client projects. Utilising our core values in your behaviour will support you to lead, motivate and mentor your teams.

You will be responsible and accountable for the day to day bureau operations, including all aspects of site security, health and safety and people management as well as working alonside Service Delivery managers to ensure thye have the appropriate support and skilled resource for the successful delivery of all Bureau projects in line with DRS' operational goals. You would actively support the company strategy and mission and strive for operational excellence.

The Person:

The ideal candidate would have excellent leadership and communication skills. They should be able to demonstrate proven experience of service delivery, people management, managing costs within budgets and knowledge of health and safety procedures.



Service Specialists (Bureau)

We have openings for 5 Service Specialist to help us deliver our operational projects.


The Role:

As a member of the Service Delivery Team the Service Specialist is involved in a range of tasks in connection with the processing of scripts such as keying, scanning and sorting. Achieving high quality standards, maintaining agreed productivity schedules and contributing to process improvement are all key aspects of the role.

During the Summer Series the Service Specialist takes responsibility for an allocated function or area, supervising a team of temporary workers across day and night shift to deliver the Summer Series.

The Person:
As a Service Specialist you would have a good understanding of written and verbal English, with the ability to follow and teach work instructions. You would also have experience of managing a team and performing repetitive work to high levels of quality. The ability to work accurately under pressure is also key to this role due to the volume and speed of operations.





Technical Infrastructure Team Leader (ITS)
We are currently looking for a Technical Infrastructure Team Leader to join our busy IT Services department.


The Role:

As a Technical Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the infrastructure team and providing technical support for all infrastructure and middleware, on premise, traditional hosted and Azure IaaS/PaaS, Network and Security.

You would be responsible for identifying customer requirements for Infrastructure architecture and producing proposals that are fit for purpose. Installation and configuration of applications to meet defined and agreed customer requirements with continuous process improvements would also be amongst the various responsibilities of this role.


The person:

With a career path based on a technical discipline, ideally as a Systems Engineer, you would have hands on Technical experience in Cloud Infrastructure (Azure) theories, principles, and practices, Windows Server technologies, MPLS, IPSec VPN, PPTP, and SSLVPN technologies and knowledge of Networking and subnetting IP for a cloud environment coupled with experience of acting as the technical lead on delivering business change projects. You would also have excellent hands on technical experience of Windows 2008, FortiGate, Juniper Firewalls and Checkpoint Firewalls, Cloud Security, Cisco ASA and/or Linux experience.



Infrastructure Engineer (ITS)
We are keen to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer to help us with the development and support of our Azure cloud-based infrastructure.    

The Role:

Working as part of a team, you will be primarily responsible for the deployment and support of Azure applications using DevOps tools and methodologies, for both live production and development environments.  This includes responsibility for ensuring correct security controls are in place on all environments and providing recommendations on additional security improvements.  You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining performance monitoring of all infrastructures, providing recommendations on improvements and control of costs and licencing.  You will also provide technical support for all infrastructure, both on premise (including network switches, firewalls etc.) and Azure IaaS/PaaS.



The Person:
This role would suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with several years of experience of Azure DevOps looking to develop their experience and knowledge of Azure in a fast-moving development and time critical production environment.  The ideal candidate would hold Microsoft Azure accreditations and be a proactive team player who can be available for overtime.



Software Developer (SAS Department)
We are looking to recruit a Software Developer who is at the start of their career and we will provide them with inhouse training opportunities for their development.


The Role: 

This role is ideal for a Software Developer who is eager to learn and develop within a team. You will be supporting the team with developing, building, and supporting desktop application solutions for our customers in the educational sector. You will be working within a team and engaging cooperatively with peers. The team also comprises of long serving, experienced Developers, who would be at hand to provide you with training, guidance and support in order to develop your skills even further.


The Person: 
If you can demonstrate experience in Microsoft's .NET Framework, Visual Studio (C#) and SQL Server, with experience of unit testing with NUnit, we would like to hear from you. Knowledge of SSRS and WCF / WPF and experience of working in an Agile environment would also be desirable. As a team player, you will need to be flexible and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
