DRS to present at international educational event in Kuala Lumpur

Global data capture specialist DRS are to host a workshop at BES Asia, the international educational event incorporating all aspects of education services and resources including continuing professional development, vocational training, school management programmes and e-Learning.  The event will take place from 15-16 October 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.

The DRS workshop will focus on the challenges schools face with attendance and registration of students and discuss the steps schools can take to ensure they have clean, instant, accurate and consistent data that monitors student whereabouts and helps to combat unplanned absences.  Education Ministries, teachers, heads of department, school owners and managers from 10 neighbouring countries, specially identified by local UKTI Commercial Officers, will be in attendance.

DRS offer an electronic registration solution, which electronically records the presence, absence or lateness of students.  With IntelliReg® registration software, students use their card, fingertip or a PIN to register.  All readers are in constant communication with the controlling PC, delivering real time information, necessary for managing registration and attendance accurately and efficiently.  Each registration contains the date, time and reader ID to determine the whereabouts of students at any given time.

Debbie Rofe, head of marketing at DRS comments: “DRS offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions and products for the education market and has extensive experience in discussing this technically with all levels of management.  BES Asia offers a unique opportunity to share best practice on an international level.”
