Peladon Software’s Automated EOB Processing Solution Chosen by HRA Medical Management

Lower document processing costs and faster turnaround are anticipated with DocXP EOB.
SAN DIEGO, Calif., August 11, 2008

Peladon Software, a prominent developer of automated capture and document processing solutions, today announced that HRA Medical Management, Inc. has licensed DocXP to automate the processing of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms and other medical records.

HRA Medical Management is a healthcare billing, consulting and data management firm that specializes in the review and analysis of the reimbursement process for hospitals and physicians. HRA is focused specifically on the area of reimbursement in the specialties of Emergency Medicine, Trauma Medicine and Inpatient Medicine/Hospitalists.

DocXP will allow HRA to quickly and accurately capture data from EOB forms and other medical records, validate the information, and balance claim totals and EOB forms.  HRA anticipates a significant reduction in costs and an improvement in document processing performance, while remaining compliant with HIPAA guidelines, using Peladon’s DocXP EOB solution.

HRA manually processes approximately 45,000 EOB forms and payments sent by insurance companies every month.  With DocXP, HRA will automate and streamline this process by scanning and capturing the data from EOB forms.  The software populates the data into the appropriate fields and provides a balancing feature to ensure that the EOB claim amounts are accurate.

“In an extremely competitive healthcare market it is particularly important for an organization to find ways to streamline operations and reduce costs.  As part of our research to do this, we evaluated several products and chose DocXP for its ease of setup and superior throughput,” said Brian Hood, Information Technology Services Manager for HRA Medical Management.  “By automating the EOB data entry process with DocXP, HRA Medical Management will reduce costs, improve turn-around time and remain compliant with HIPAA guidelines.  Plus, the system will pay for itself in less than one year,” added Hood.

“We are thrilled that HRA has chosen Peladon’s DocXP solution,” said Noel Flynn, Chief Operating Officer for Peladon Software. “By automating the processing of EOB forms, we believe the DocXP solution will help HRA control costs, improve operational efficiency and maintain a competitive position in the marketplace,” added Flynn.
