DRS e-Marker® is highly commended at prestigious Awards Ceremony

DRS is proud to announce that e-Marker®, its electronic examination marking solution, has been highly commended at the 2006 BETT Awards, for its role in ‘Supporting Institutional Management’. The results were announced at an exclusive event at the Hilton Hotel in Park Lane, London last night.

Following a rigorous, three month testing and judging process, e-Marker® was shortlisted under the ‘Supporting Institutional Management’ category back in October. This category considers products and services designed to be used by institutional managers which support learning and teaching and which offer clear advantages in terms of effectiveness, efficiency and raising standards.

The judging panel comprised around seventy educational practitioners and ICT experts, representing a range of educational associations and organisations, including the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority, Department for Education and Skills and the National College for School Leadership.

e-Marker® impressed the judges with its design to add value and improve the accuracy of the examination and assessment process. The fact that it supports awarding bodies, examiners and the marking process and provides invaluable management information giving a wealth of added value and benefits, including the ability to monitor the status of marking in real time, also made a significant impact.

After the Awards Ceremony, Tony Lee, DRS Managing Director commented, “This is a great achievement for DRS. After working successfully with a number of exam boards to improve their examination marking processes, it is an honour to be recognised for making a difference in the education sector.”
