e-Marker® up for a BETT Award!

Today, DRS is proud to announce that e-Marker®, its electronic examination marking solution, has made the final for an esteemed BETT 2006 Award.

The BETT Awards are the prestigious annual recognition of excellence in educational ICT and play a key role in identifying and rewarding high quality technological products and services that are proving to be effective in the education sector.

e-Marker® has faced a rigorous judging process that started back in July 2005 and was short listed as a finalist in the category of Supporting Institutional Management earlier this week. The awards process represents a valuable partnership between the private and public sectors and is one means of supporting the development of ICT products and services to reflect the needs of the education system.

Winners of the Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 11th January in Park Lane, London.

e-Marker® is a suite of sophisticated examination processing and marking solutions designed to add value and improve the accuracy of the examination and assessment process. It harnesses the power of the Internet along with DRS specialist imaging and data capture technology to electronically capture item level responses and marks from images of examination scripts. e-Marker® offers a variety of scalable electronic marking methods that can be used to streamline the entire marking process, no matter how large and complex – whether it’s 100 or 100,000 scripts.

DRS e-Marker® is used by awarding and professional bodies including AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance), CCEA (Council for Curriculum Examinations and Assessment), WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee) and IFS (Institute of Financial Services).
