Environmental policy

Environmental policy

The Company strives to improve its environmental performance through the implementation of sustainable development and the pursuit of appropriate environmental activities.

We work with environmentally responsible organisations that support our approach. Several different waste types are recycled including paper reel ends, compactor waste polythene, shredded materials, plastic bottles, coffee capsules and cardboard. Staff are encouraged to submit their ideas on how the consumption of energy and other resources used by the Company may be reduced.

At the end of life of products supplied, customers are expected to return them to DRS for disposal or recycling in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive and the Batteries Directive.

DRS also operates in accordance with the requirements of the European Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS Directive) ensuring its products comply, where required, with the restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances. This revised directive includes additional categories of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and European Conformity (CE) marking obligations.

Environmental impact is reviewed regularly in order to:

Reduce the business’s environmental load

Meet all statutory obligations

Pursue great working practices

Recycle waste products and safely dispose of non-recyclable materials
